We often forget the importance of sunscreen. Why is sunscreen so important? Sun exposure is the number one cause of aging and damage to the skin. Therefore sun protection (SPF) is the most important skin care product you can use everyday.
Sun exposure damages the dermis of the skin which leads to wrinkles and uneven pigmentation. It is also blamed for skin and lip cancers.
The first and most important defence against wrinkles is the daily use of sunscreen with an SPF 30 or higher. It may be found in your foundation or moisturizer. This will help to prevent new wrinkles from developing and existing ones from getting deeper.
Sun protection (SPF) is not just for the summer months! To prevent aging caused by UV rays, sunscreen should be used every day of the year-even if it is a cloudy day or you're not even planning on being outside.
Fake tan is the only safe tan! Any tan indicates skin damage, the darker the colour of the tan, the more widespread the skin damage. A tan may give protection from sun burns but it will not protect against wrinkles or skin cancer.
Most People Don’t Apply Enough Sunscreen. Sunscreen should be the last product applied. If you wear Makeup daily apply an SPF of 50 to the face and neck, after your moisturizer and before your foundation. Your skin will remain healthier and renewed with a youthful glow. The importance of sunscreen should be remembered year round.
